Hailey Bieber candidly shares how her words are often "twisted" by the public, leaving her in an "uncomfortable" position. The 29-year-old model recently sat down with Time and talked about feeling "misunderstood" and facing relentless public scrutiny solely because she is the wife of pop singer Justin Bieber.
Hailey, whose beauty brand, Rode, has been named one of Time's 100 Most Influential Companies of 2026, opened up about her struggles. She said, "Being in this position, in general, there's a lot of judgment." When trying to figure out who you are on such a grand scale and in front of so many diverse people, it feels incredibly restrictive to make normal mistakes or do something wrong or say something inappropriate."

The mother of one went on to explain that she feels "really uncomfortable" in interviews because her words "get twisted or things get totally misconstrued." This makes her shut down and not be open with people," Hailey admitted. She further noted, "I am obviously in a position where I want to share my life and be authentic and open. However, it can feel hard sometimes having everything I do scrutinized and analyzed. People create a story for me that isn't even real, and it can feel bizarre."
Hailey knows she can't do much about it because "when people have made up their minds about something and about you, they don't care what the truth is. They just enjoy believing what they believe." So, she copes by simply "living" her life and "continuing to move forward."
It's worth mentioning that Hailey and Justin Bieber tied the knot back in 2018 and welcomed their son Jack Blue in August 2024.
