For Halle Bailey, the season is a veritable Eden-like time. Just a month after the "Do It" singer and her ex-partner DDG—who share a 23-month-old son named Halo—lifted the domestic violence restraining orders they had placed against each other, she reflects on the transformative year that has unfolded.
"It's been a truly life-changing year," Halle told Will Marfuggi of E! News during an exclusive interview at the GQ Man of the Year dinner in Los Angeles earlier this month. "I've been filled with excitement. I've released an album."
"I feel healed, happy, and free," Halle added. "I just want people to listen to the music, and I'm grateful to be here."

In addition to releasing her debut solo album, Love?... or Something Like It last month, the Chloe x Halle member also reached a significant milestone in her motherhood journey. According to court documents obtained by E! News, she came to a temporary custody agreement with DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) on October 27th.
As Halle looks back on the year with gratitude, she shares her most anticipated aspect of spending the upcoming holiday season with her son. "Decorating everything, overload," she continues. "I just got Christmas lights all over my house. I'm so excited about it."
Halle adds, "I love to bake sugar cookies. I go all out."
When it comes to Halo's favorite parts of the holidays, "He loves music," Halle explains. "So, we wake up in the morning and sing songs together." But she cautiously notes that whether her little one will follow in her musical footsteps in the future is a "maybe."
"Who knows?" Halle says. "I would want him to do what he wants to do. But he definitely has a musical inclination, which is so cool."
