The mastermind behind "Hannibal," Bryan Fuller, is dreaming up a project of epic proportions—one that would feature none other than the sensational Zendaya. In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant, Fuller unveiled his ultimate "dream project": a limited series adaptation of "The Silence of the Lambs," starring Zendaya as the fearless Clarice Starling and Mads Mikkelsen reprising his iconic role as the chilling Hannibal Lecter. "My dream project would be a limited series of 'Silence of the Lambs' with Mads and Zendaya as Clarice Starling," Fuller declared. "If I could send anything out into the cosmos, it would be this vision."

The original roles of Clarice and Hannibal were immortalized by Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, respectively, in Jonathan Demme’s 1991 cinematic masterpiece, "The Silence of the Lambs," adapted from Thomas Harris’ 1988 novel of the same name. The film dominated the 1992 Oscars, securing Academy Awards for Best Leading Actress (Foster) and Best Leading Actor (Hopkins), along with trophies for Best Picture, Best Director (Demme), and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Zendaya, meanwhile, is on the cusp of a monumental 2026, with a slate of high-profile projects in the pipeline. Audiences can soon expect to see her shine in the highly anticipated third season of "Euphoria," the third installment of the "Dune" saga, Christopher Nolan’s next epic, "The Odyssey," and the fourth Tom Holland-led "Spider-Man" film, titled "Brand New Day."

Ridley Scott’s 2001 "Hannibal" film served as a sequel to Demme’s original, with Hopkins returning to his menacing role and Julianne Moore stepping in as Clarice. In Fuller’s critically acclaimed 2013 "Hannibal" TV series, Mikkelsen took center stage as the titular character, though Clarice Starling was notably absent from the narrative. Adding another feather to his cap, Fuller recently made his directorial debut with the thriller "Dust Bunny," which premiered to rave reviews at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
