The legal thriller series War, a joint production between HBO and Sky, has filled out its star-studded cast with a roster of popular faces. Dominic West (The Wire, The Crown), who portrays tech titan Morgan Henderson, will be joined by Sienna Miller (Anatomy of a Scandal, American Sniper) as his estranged wife and international film star Carla Duval. Celia Imrie (The Thursday Murder Club, The Diplomat) will take on the role of series regular Budgie, while Nick Mohammed (Slow Horses, Ted Lasso) will join as series regular Michael Stefanou. The announcement was made on Wednesday by the show's producers.
Created by showrunner George Kay (Lupin, Hijack) and directed by Ben Taylor (Sex Education, Catastrophe), with co-production from All3Media's New Pictures and Observatory Pictures, War received a two-season commitment from Sky and HBO. The series follows two of London's most prestigious rival law firms as they go head-to-head in the divorce case of the century. Each side is confident in their victory, but as the case spirals out of control and loyalties fracture, reputations are on the line, and everyone is playing to win. This is just the beginning - the explosive case of season one is the first in a series of headline-making legal battles.
Other new additions to the cast include Shaheen Jafargholi (Lost Boys and Faries, The Agency season 2), Akiya Henry (Protection, Malice), Honor Swinton Byrne (The Souvenir, A Very Royal Scandal), Miles Jupp (The Full Monty, The Durrells), Kartanya Maynard (Heartbreak High, Deadlock), Alexandra Mardell (Smoggie Queens, The Family Pile), Mark Quartley (Inside Man, Cursed), and Steve Furst (I Fought The Law, A Gentleman in Moscow).
Guest stars announced on Wednesday include Rose Williams (Mrs Harris Goes to Paris, Sanditon), Camille Coduri (Big Boys, Rain Dogs), Mumsy Monroe, and Aran Murphy (Klara and the Sun). Previously revealed cast members include Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, Nina Sosanya, Pip Torrens, and Archie Renaux.
War will be available on HBO and HBO Max in the U.S. and stream on HBO Max in Australia and Asia. It will also be available on Sky and its streaming service Now in the U.K., Ireland, Italy, and on Sky Deutschland's streamer Wow in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. International sales of the series will be handled by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.
