In an exclusive interview with Pink News, Jacob Tierney, the creator of the highly anticipated HBO Max series Heated Rivalry, has shared an exciting update on the upcoming season. Jacob revealed that he is currently penning the new season and hinted that fans can expect a departure from the narrative trajectory of the first season. As the creator, writer, and executive producer of the hit show, he further divulged that season 2 promises to be more than just a continuation of the romance.

"While I haven't fully mapped out my plan, there's one thing I can confidently commit to - when Shane and Ilya get married, it's like witnessing a scene out of a heartwarming movie. I've never seen anything cuter than Hayden's kids witnessing their union. So, that's a definite inclusion," Jacob told the outlet.
He continued, "But, I'm not ready to commit to everything. I want to leave some room for maneuvering. However, that's certainly going to be a part of it."
"Honestly, the thing I'm most excited about is writing Ilya and Hayden in season two. Their chemistry is hilarious, and the endless antagonism they share is incredibly charming. It's going to be a delight to see them interact," Jacob added, referring to Connor Storrie and Callan Potter's characters.
Heated Rivalry season 1 premiered on HBO Max on November 28, 2025.
