Hero Fiennes Tiffin found the task of stepping into the shoes of the young Sherlock Holmes "daunting," as he prepares for his role in Prime Video's upcoming series "Young Sherlock." The actor, who plays a 19-year-old version of the iconic fictional detective, who has been brought to life by the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch (in the TV show "Sherlock") and Robert Downey Jr. (in Guy Ritchie's film series), admits that the anticipation is palpable.

"Daunting is a good word—there was definitely a bit of that," the star of "After" told Entertainment Weekly. "I mean, there still is a bit of that, because it's not even out yet." However, for the Harry Potter enthusiast, this role is a dream come true.

"I've always been a fan of Sherlock, from my dad saying, 'No s---, Sherlock,' every time I said something obvious, all through Guy's film installments," he gushed. "I've been obsessed with the character and Guy's work. I feel like I'm peaking way too early because this is what dreams are made of for me."

After starring in Harry Potter as a younger version of Voldemort, played by his uncle Ralph Fiennes, Hero is once again acting alongside an uncle—this time his other uncle, Joseph Fiennes. Hero believes that casting his uncle as his on-screen father Silas Holmes was a deliberate decision on part of showrunner Matthew Parkhill.

"I don't know if I believe Matthew when he says this, but when they were looking to cast the role of Silas Holmes, I think they went out to Joe, and Matthew said shortly after, 'Oh yeah, that's Hero's uncle. I forgot,'" he shared with a hint of mischief in his voice. He added, "And I call bulls--- on that, sorry. But nevertheless, it did feel really organic. And when he said, 'Would you mind that? How would you feel about that?' I said, 'I would love nothing more.'"

"Young Sherlock," starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin, will premiere on Prime Video in March 2026.
