Hong Kong's PCCW Media has forged a collaboration with esteemed independent film and television studio SK Global Entertainment, the powerhouse behind "Crazy Rich Asians," to bring to life the captivating drama series, "The Season." This six-episode saga, with its backdrop set against the vibrant landscape of Hong Kong, weaves a tale of camaraderie gone awry as a tight-knit group of friends convene for a joyous summer of sun-soaked boating adventures, only to find themselves entangled in a labyrinth of deceit and intense power dynamics. The intriguing series was unveiled with much anticipation at a special event held at the Hong Kong Film Market.

"We firmly believe that 'The Season' is a narrative that will resonate with audiences worldwide, drawing them into the personal odysseys, intricate relationships, and gripping conflicts of its characters," expressed Janice Lee, the Managing Director of PCCW Media Group and CEO of Viu, the company's multi-regional video streaming platform.

Leading the stellar ensemble is Jessie Mei Li, renowned for her role in "Shadow and Bone," accompanied by three-time Golden Horse Award winner Karena Lam, Justin Chien from "The Brothers Sun," Yvonne Chapman of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" fame, alongside Celina Jade from "Wolf Warrior 2" and Toby Stephens from "Percy Jackson And The Olympians." The talented cast further boasts Kōki, honored with the Rising Star of Asia Award 2025 at the Asian Film Awards, Lee Jae-yoon from "Physical 100 S2," as well as Hong Kong's own Anson Lo and Marf Yau, King Maker V victor Lyman Heung, Thor Lok, and Mishy Lee.

At the helm of this compelling series is writer and producer Yalun Tu, whose impressive resume includes collaborations with Amazon Japan and HBO Asia, in addition to her contributions to "NCIS: Hawaii" and "Wu Assassins." Directing this thrilling journey is Chilean filmmaker Marialy Rivas, best known for "The Jetty," who doubles as the lead director and executive producer. Executive producing for PCCW Media is Agatha Lo, while Chloe Dan, Matt Aragachi, and Dylan Tarason represent SK Global, with Aaron Shershow serving as producer.

"The Season" will be available on Viu across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, and beyond, with additional distribution details to be announced in due course.
