HBO has officially granted the green light for a thrilling new season of "House of the Dragon" even before the premiere of its highly anticipated second season. The network has commissioned yet another installment of the "Game of Thrones" prequel series, although the exact number of episodes remains a mystery.
In announcing the continuation, Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming, showered praise on co-creators George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal. The second season of "House of the Dragon" is set to return on Sunday, and critics are already raving about the new episodes, which have garnered an impressive 88% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Based on Martin's book "Fire & Blood", the series takes place 200 years prior to the events of "Game of Thrones" and chronicles the devastating civil war within House Targaryen.
