Milly Alcock faced an arduous initiation upon her debut on the "House of the Dragon" set. During a recent guest appearance on "The Tonight Show," Alcock, who embodies the young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the "Game of Thrones" spin-off, recounted a daunting encounter where she was informed by a "highly influential" individual that she would be assigned an acting coach on her second day of filming.
"On my second day on 'House of the Dragon,' a prominent figure, whose name I shall not disclose, took me aside and casually mentioned, 'Uh, we're arranging for you to have an acting coach,'" Alcock reminisced. This revelation did little to alleviate her anxieties as she embarked on portraying Rhaenyra, a character etched in the annals of the "Thrones" universe.
"It merely solidified a long-held suspicion of mine – that perhaps I'm not very adept at my profession," she confessed. "You understand the sentiment! I was thinking, 'I can't handle this. This is horrendous. This is a colossal blunder.'"
While Alcock shared the screen with Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, and Rhys Ifans in Season 1 of "House of the Dragon," her presence was only a fleeting cameo in Season 2. Variety recently announced that filming for Season 3 of "House of the Dragon" commenced in March, welcoming a fresh ensemble including Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Tom Cullen, Joplin Sibtain, and Barry Sloane.
"House of the Dragon" is set approximately 200 years prior to the events chronicled in "Game of Thrones," drawing inspiration from George R.R. Martin's fantasy novel "Fire & Blood," the mastermind behind "Thrones."
