Kim Kardashian is preserving the memory of her dear friend, Lindsay May Palevsky, who passed away after a long battle with a rare form of cancer. Months after confirming Lindsay's demise, the Kardashians star shared a poignant glimpse into her grieving process in the year since her friend's passing.

"A year without you," Kim wrote on Instagram on November 3, "the world paused on November 2nd, and I know a part of our lifers group went with you. Time feels strange without you here."

She continued, "We all see you in purple skies and butterflies. I love you forever, my lifer." Accompanying the heartbreaking message were a series of photos of her and Lindsay over the years, including a throwback group photo, photobooth snaps of the duo, and Lindsay smiling at Psalm West's 2nd birthday party in 2021. She also included a photo of Lindsay's headstone, which features an epitaph reading, "beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend," surrounded by painted rocks and purple flowers.

Back in June, Kim—also mom to North, 12, Saint, 9, and Chicago, 7—shared Lindsay's passing while reposting a fundraiser honoring Lindsay's memory. Just a few weeks later, Kim penned an emotional message on what would have been Lindsay's 45th birthday, explaining how she "waited months to post this, mostly because I couldn't find the right words."

"It was just your birthday and I know you never liked to make a big deal of it, but Happy Heavenly Birthday, Lindz," Kim wrote in a July Instagram post full of photos from a 2024 lake trip with Lindsay and their friend group's families. "Nothing really captures how quiet and empty our lifers chat feels without you in it."

The SKIMS founder then went on to share how after Lindsay's death, she had gone back to the lake with the other "lifers" and spent that time "feeling you everywhere." "The lake was your happy place. It made you feel lighter, healthier...you were you. It'll always be our favorite lifers tradition because it’s where we spend time with all of our kids being together and get real time with each other without any outside noise," she wrote. "We felt your absence this year in every sunset, every laugh, every quiet moment."

She also detailed what it meant to have Lindsay by her side for all these years. "Looking back at these pictures from a year ago, I feel so grateful for all the memories we made since we were kids," Kim continued. "Our world is not the same without you. I guess that’s why I hold onto this lake tradition so tightly. We’ll always have the lake—and in that, we’ll always have a piece of you."
