‘Hunger Games’ Star's Taylor Swift Confession Causes a Stir

Josh Hutcherson's recent statement has captured the attention of Taylor Swift's devoted fans, known as Swifties. The 33-year-old actor surprised the public, particularly Swifties, with an unexpected confession during his recent appearance in i-D magazine alongside English Teacher star Jordan Firstman.

In a segment called Camera Roll Roulette, the duo answered random questions by scrolling through their photo selection based on the given word. Firstman chose a clip of people dancing to his song when the word was "club." Hutcherson, on the other hand, didn't have any club photos but showed a concert photo instead—a picture of him and his mother during the Eras Tour.

"That is really cute," Firstman said as Hutcherson showed the photo to the camera before adding, "My mom made me go." When asked if he was a Swiftie, Hutcherson replied, "I'm not a Swiftie. Very much not." He continued, "No shade. All respect but definitely not."

Unfortunately, his admission drew disappointment from some fans. One X user posted a photo of Hutcherson during the Eras Tour along with a clip from his recent interview, accompanied by the caption: "???????? I guess he went to the Eras tour just for some attention, then since he’s not getting it from his roles." Another wrote, "This is the most pathetic and two-faced thing I've seen multiple celebs do: act all high and mighty, pretending they're above liking her and her music, but then kissing her ass when they meet her or attend her concerts. She's too nice in a world full of asshole celebs."

"Noooo, Josh, why did you do this?? I was rooting for you," said one disappointed commenter. "And that's how his career has come to an end, good run," another X user joked.

However, the majority of online fans defended Hutcherson and pointed out that his reason for watching the Eras Tour doesn't mean he hates the pop star. "Josh Hutcherson literally says in the video that he went for his mother. Just because he’s not a Swiftie, it doesn’t mean he didn’t have a good time or enjoy himself still," a commenter mentioned. "Call me crazy, but I think he was referring to the 'Swifties' and not 'Taylor' and y'all are just proving his point," another echoed.

In 2024, Hutcherson was spotted excitedly exchanging friendship bracelets at Swift's concert in Caesars Superdome, New Orleans. At that time, he was filming his recently released movie Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
