A Massachusetts entrepreneur is breaking his silence amid the dissolution of his marriage to a tech company executive who made headlines after being infamously captured in the embrace of her boss at a Coldplay concert in July. News recently surfaced that Kristin Cabot had filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew Cabot, mere weeks after she was caught on a notorious "kiss cam" with Andy Byron, then-CEO of Astronomer, who is also reportedly married.

A spokeswoman for Andrew informed PEOPLE that he and Kristin had "privately and amicably separated several weeks prior to the Coldplay concert." "Their decision to divorce was already in motion before that fateful evening," the spokeswoman elaborated. "Now that the divorce filing has become public, Andrew hopes it will put an end to the speculation and afford his family the privacy they have always cherished." She further emphasized, "No additional public comments will be made." (A representative for Kristin did not immediately respond to requests for comment.)

Andrew, 61, serves as the CEO of Privateer Rum. He has two children from a previous marriage, while he and Kristin do not have children together. Kristin was employed as Astronomer’s chief people officer when she and Byron were immortalized in the instantly viral clip from the audience at a Coldplay show in Massachusetts this past summer. Their unusual reaction — she swiftly turned her back while he ducked out of sight — prompted Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to quip, “Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.” Neither Kristin nor Byron has publicly addressed the nature of their relationship to date. According to NBC News, Kristin filed for divorce in New Hampshire in August.

The entire fiasco sparked a deluge of memes and mockery, thrusting the former colleagues into the national spotlight for several days. Many online enthusiasts claimed to have unearthed and shared personal details about both families. The controversy also ignited widespread debate about the nature of privacy in the digital age and what behaviors warrant public scrutiny.

Both Kristin and Byron subsequently left Astronomer. In a November press release announcing Kristin’s initial hiring at Astronomer, Byron was quoted praising her “exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling people strategies as crucial for the company’s continued rapid growth. She is a proven leader.” After succeeding Byron, interim CEO Pete DeJoy addressed the incident in a statement, highlighting the company’s "resilience" even under intense scrutiny. "The events of the past few days have garnered a level of media attention that few companies — let alone startups in our niche corner of the data and AI world — ever experience," DeJoy wrote. "The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team, and while I would never have wished for it to happen in this manner, Astronomer is now a household name."
