"Lume" draws inspiration from the devastating wildfires that have become increasingly common in the Spanish and Portuguese countryside in recent years. The series depicts a forest fire threatening a small village on the border between Galicia and Portugal, where Lucía embarks on a journalistic investigation that quickly turns personal. As she delves deeper, she realizes that while a fire can destroy, it can also reveal hidden truths.

Produced by Coral Europa in Portugal and Setemedia in Spain, "Lume" has garnered support from local broadcasters RTP and TV Galicia, as well as Max, ensuring its distribution once completed. Currently in pre-production, filming is set to commence next month, with a scheduled release in 2025.

"Through a gripping and mysterious narrative, the story unravels the economic interests that mask the real reasons behind the forest fires, offering a poignant portrayal of the rural landscape in the 21st century," says Bruno de Lima Santos, General Manager of Coral Europa. "Moreover, it's a journey of self-discovery, exploring familial ties, wounds, and the unique characteristics of two neighboring nations."

The production will feature directors from both Portugal and Spain, with Sérgio Graciano, an International Emmy winner and two-time nominee for his work on "Laços de Sangue," taking the helm from Portugal, and Spain's Giselle Llanio, known for "Pazo da Familia," joining him. Together, they will bring "Lume" to life, a captivating eco-thriller that highlights the impact of forest fires on Galicia and Portugal.
