Faye Greenwood recounts her astonishing health odyssey, six months after a heart attack at the youthful age of 24 necessitated a heart transplant in October. In an interview with the BBC published on January 5th, she reflected on the harrowing experience, stating, "I couldn't fathom that something so grave would befall me. [You think,] 'That won't happen to me,' and then it did."

Although she had previously been diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, the UK native noted that doctors are still uncertain about the cause of the July heart attack. However, she does recall experiencing chest pains and vomiting prior to the episode. "I can't really remember much, but I just felt an excruciating pain, something I've never felt before," Faye continued. "A sense of impending doom, like the world was closing in."
She added about the attack and subsequent transplant, "It's something you never really think you'll have to confront." Despite the life-threatening experience, Faye has been vocal about her renewed appreciation for life. "I have a new, good, great, lovely, perfect, beating little heart that I've been so fortunate to receive," she said in a November 23rd TikTok. "And I just can't even believe it."
The influencer added, "So lucky and grateful that I'm still here." Amid her health struggles, Faye was supported by her now-fiancé, Ailbhe Lower, who officially proposed last month after previously declaring their intention to lead a happily ever after. "We basically got engaged like three times," Faye said alongside Ailbhe—known online as Mr. Bruv—in a December 28th TikTok while announcing their official engagement. "The first one was a promise that I was gonna marry you, which was in the hospital in Paris like three days after my heart attack."
She added, "It was a promise that once I'm better, we're gonna get married." After a second proposal during another one of Faye's hospital stays, Ailbhe made their engagement official by getting down on one knee on the fifth anniversary of their first date. "It was perfect," Faye said. "I absolutely love my ring, and I love all of our little engagements. I feel so happy and such a lucky girl."
