Zendaya is convinced that the curtains are about to close on "Euphoria." As the anticipation for season three of the show builds, the actress—who has portrayed Rue Bennett since the show's inception in 2019—shared her thoughts on whether this upcoming installment would be the series' final act. "I think so, yeah," Zendaya revealed during an episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show" in April. "The closure is coming." E! News reached out to HBO for a comment, but a response was not forthcoming.

While HBO has not officially confirmed whether season three will indeed be the end for "Euphoria," many fans have assumed it would be after the four-year hiatus between seasons two and three. The delay was partly due to the cast—which also includes Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, and Alexa Demie—rising to greater fame in Hollywood, making it increasingly challenging to juggle their schedules. Additionally, the "Euphoria" family lost one of their own in 2023 when star Angus Cloud—who played character Fezco—passed away at age 25 following an accidental overdose.
Regardless of when the show reaches its conclusion, Zendaya is certain of one thing: playing Rue has significantly impacted her for the better. "Euphoria," she told Drew Barrymore, "cracked my heart open." "Rue has taught me so much about life. That crew has also witnessed my growth. I owe so much to that show."
"Rue has taught me empathy and redemption," Zendaya continued, who has won two Emmys for her work in "Euphoria." "She's taught me a lot, and I'm incredibly grateful for everything she's imparted upon me."
Season three, which premieres on April 12, will feature a time jump that follows the cast into their adult lives after graduating high school. Zendaya previously expressed her support for this forward progression, telling "Entertainment Weekly" in 2024, "I know it's important because there's only so much high school drama you can deal with."
"To me, at least, it is [exciting], and it will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside of the context of high school," the "Challengers" alum added. "And how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and in high school affects the kind of adulthood they have and who they become in a much bigger world."
Fans finally got a glimpse of what's to come in a new trailer released on March 30—and it's safe to say there's no shortage of drama. In fact, show creator Sam Levinson is so confident about the new season that he believes it surpasses all previous ones. As he told "Variety" in December 2025, "I feel strongly this is our best season yet."
