James Marsden has been graced with a role in the second season ensemble of "Your Friends & Neighbors," enhancing its already star-studded cast. Following the thrilling premiere of the first season last Friday, Apple TV+ revealed that Marsden will join the ongoing production of the second season of this captivating drama series. This announcement follows the series' renewal for a second season in November. Season one boasts an impressive ensemble, featuring Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Gravitt, and Donovan Colan.
The official synopsis for season one sets the tone: "Andrew 'Coop' Cooper (played by Hamm), a disgraced hedge fund manager still grappling with the aftermath of his recent divorce, resorts to burglarizing the homes of his affluent neighbors in the exclusive Westmont Village. Little does he know that the hidden secrets and affairs lurking behind those luxurious facades pose a threat far more perilous than he could have ever fathomed."
Marsden is poised to become a series regular in season two, following his recent starring role opposite Sterling K. Brown in Hulu's "Paradise." His other notable credits include "Sonic the Hedgehog 3," "Knox Goes Away," and "Dead to Me."
This marks Hamm's first leading role in a continuous series since "Mad Men" concluded a decade ago. Hamm serves as an executive producer alongside Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, adding depth to the production. Jonathan Tropper, the creator of the series, shared with The Hollywood Reporter how Hamm's involvement as a producer facilitated the casting process. "Hamm has an extensive list of contacts, and whenever we needed to reach out to someone, Jon usually knew them well. For instance, I was eager to cast Amanda Peet and Olivia Munn, and I believe this wouldn't have happened without Hamm's producing partnership," Tropper elaborated.
Season two of "Your Friends & Neighbors" will also be executive produced by Jamie Rosengard, Lori Keith Douglas, and Stephanie Laing, who will also take the director's chair. New episodes of "Your Friends & Neighbors" will continue to drop on Apple TV+ every Friday, promising viewers another thrilling chapter in this enigmatic tale.
