On Wednesday, Jane's Addiction and Perry Farrell, via their social media platforms, announced the resolution of their long-standing differences, a year after the infamous on-stage brawl that marked the band's final show. During that incident, Farrell had punched Dave Navarro on stage, leaving a mark on the band's history.
In their statements, both Farrell and the rest of the band expressed their gratitude to their fans and their regret for how the incident had played out. The band confirmed its official breakup, stating, "Today, we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Jane's Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together."

Farrell apologized to "our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show," adding that "I didn't handle myself the way I should have." He continued, "Jane's Addiction has been at the center of my life for decades. The band, the songs, the patrons, and the impact we've had on music and culture mean more to me than any words I could ever possibly write down. My aim has always been to give our audience the best possible show, something real, honest, and positive. In Boston, we fell short of that, and I'm truly sorry to everyone who was impacted."
Navarro and Jane's Addiction bandmates Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins had filed a $10 million lawsuit against Farrell in July over the tour cancellation. They stated that they were forced to take this action after Farrell assaulted Navarro on stage during the 33-date North American reunion tour. On the same day, Farrell filed his own suit, alleging that the rest of the band were the aggressors in the incident and had taken part in a "years-long bullying campaign" against him. He claimed that after the incident, the band "published malicious, defamatory public statements" about him, which he said had led to "significant reputational harm."
In their statement, Jane's Addiction acknowledged, "We made inaccurate statements about Perry's mental health, which we regret." They concluded by saying, "You, the fans, are our lifeblood, and we will always appreciate you."
