Jason Issacs, who famously embodied the character of Lucius Malfoy in the cinematic saga, has finally broken his silence regarding the fresh casting announcements for the upcoming Harry Potter TV series. The esteemed actor, renowned for his role in The White Lotus, extended his heartfelt congratulations to actor-musician Johnny Flynn on securing the iconic part of Lucius Malfoy, the arrogant and cunning patriarch of Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter's sworn enemy.

In a post shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Issacs, who also starred in The Patriot, showered praise on Flynn and expressed his eagerness to witness Flynn's interpretation of the character. Issacs penned, "Here's to a fantastic actor, a genuinely wonderful human being, and, to my chagrin, an exceptionally talented musician as well. There could not have been a more fitting successor to wield the snake-adorned baton. Just one tiny request—please refrain from making him sing…#HarryPotter #JohnnyFlynn #KillTheElfEarly."

Previously, during an interview on The Hollywood Reporter’s Award Chatter podcast, the 62-year-old actor had revealed his fondness for his final moments as the sole on-screen Lucius Malfoy. He hinted at plans to "milk" the attention and "savor each and every ovation" until his replacement stepped into the spotlight.

Joining Flynn in the star-studded cast is Lox Pratt, who will portray Draco Malfoy. Meanwhile, Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton will breathe life into the beloved trio of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, respectively.

HBO, the streaming giant behind the series, has yet to unveil a premiere date. Anticipation is high as the TV series is poised to delve into one book per season, promising fans a magical journey faithful to J.K. Rowling's enchanting world.
