Set amidst the lively and vibrant Tango Festival in Finland, "Butterflies" tells the heartwarming story of Siiri, a jaded 29-year-old woman, and her endlessly cheerful father, Petri, as they embark on a journey of self-discovery amidst the chaos and excitement of the festival. With the festival as their backdrop, they navigate their own truths and ultimately engage in a dance of self-realization.

Aksa Korttila, whose notable credits include "Sibelius Continuum," "The Sixth Time," and "The Year of the Wolf," brings Siiri's character to life with her captivating performance. Jani Volanen, who has appeared in films like "Hatching," "Homecoming," and "Dogs Don't Wear Pants," plays Petri with charming optimism. The cast is further enriched by Leea Klemola, who steals the show as Siiri's politician boss going through a marital crisis.

"Butterflies" is a production of Tekele Productions, helmed by Miia Haavisto, and has been supported by the Finnish Film Foundation and the Finnish broadcaster YLE. The film, which is currently in the final stages of post-production, is set to release in Finland in late September through SF Studios. Prepare to be charmed by this heartwarming comedy that explores the complexities of family relationships and the beauty of self-discovery.
