Jennifer Aniston has recently shared a poignant revelation about her pursuit of an acting career, despite her father's stern warning. The 'Friends' alumna, the daughter of 'Days of Our Lives' star John Aniston, recalled her father's disapproval when she decided to follow in his footsteps in the entertainment industry. "My dad was telling me, 'Please don't do this, you're just going to suffer rejection,'" she recalled, speaking to Dax Shepard and Monica Padman on the latest episode of the 'Armchair Expert' podcast on October 20th.
The actress, known for her role in 'Murder Mystery,' shared that her father urged her, "Just go get a job. Like, get a real job. All the cliché things." However, Jennifer had already made up her mind and didn't back down. "Whatever drives you, if you find passion in something and you love it, go do it," said the 56-year-old with determination.
In the same interview, Jennifer also addressed the ongoing debate surrounding "nepo babies" in Hollywood. "I mean, look at all the law firms. Blanky Blanky Blanky and Blanky Blank. It's all in the family," she continued, referencing the 'The Morning Show' actress's own background.
Jennifer pointed out, "So, maybe you got into the door because you are so-and-so's kid, but if you suck, guess what? You're not going to continue to do it." Interestingly, the 'Horrible Bosses' actress added that she would give anything for her father's attention, especially after her parents' divorce when she was just nine years old.
