Authorities announced on Wednesday that a 48-year-old man from Mississippi, Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, faces up to three years behind bars if convicted of all charges stemming from his breach of Jennifer Aniston's Bel Air mansion gate. According to a press statement issued by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Carwyle has been indicted for stalking the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress since March 2023.

Prosecutors revealed that Carwyle, a resident of New Albany, Mississippi, incessantly harassed Aniston, referred to only as "Jennifer A" in the statement. He left her unwanted voicemails and sent her messages across social media and email platforms. This alleged obsession culminated in a harrowing incident on May 5, when Carwyle allegedly rammed through the front gates of Aniston's Bel Air mansion, causing significant property damage. Aniston, renowned for her roles in "Friends" and "The Morning Show," was reportedly home at the time of the incident.

Responding to reports of a burglary suspect driving through a gate near Sunset Boulevard and Bellagio Road around 12:20 p.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department arrived at the scene. Private security personnel in the vicinity detained the suspect until police arrived. Carwyle, who reportedly complained of pain after crashing through the gate, was apprehended without further incident.

L.A. County prosecutors stated that Carwyle has been charged with one count each of felony stalking and felony vandalism, along with an aggravating circumstance involving the threat of great bodily harm. "Stalking is a crime that can swiftly escalate from mere harassment to perilous, violent actions, posing a threat to the safety of victims and our communities," said L.A. DA Nathan Hochman. "My office is steadfast in its commitment to vigorously prosecute those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable for their actions."

Prosecutors intend to request a bail amount of $150,000 for Carwyle, who is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
