Jennifer Garner Got Stuck in an Elevator at Comic-Con for Over an Hour

"I could surely benefit from a Wolverine's claws or Deadpool's regenerative powers," Jennifer Garner quipped, her wit shining through a series of videos posted across social media, chronicling her unexpected adventure. Her maiden voyage to Comic-Con, however, didn't quite pan out as a smooth debutante ball.

On Saturday, the actress took to Instagram to narrate her harrowing tale of being marooned in an elevator at the San Diego Convention Center for an interminable hour. Each video clip, accompanied by a humorous caption that read "Baby's first Comic Con: a short story," chronicled the escalating anxiety and ingenuity of her fellow passengers and herself.

Garner's surprise appearance at Comic-Con followed the thrilling screening of Deadpool & Wolverine on Thursday night, but her real-life adventure surpassed even the wildest comic book plotlines.

The first video, captured mere moments after their confinement, found Garner quipping, "A Wolverine's agility or Deadpool's quips would come in handy right about now. Yeah, stairs are looking pretty appealing."

Eleven minutes later, as the temperature inside the cramped space began to rise, Garner shared another clip, remarking, "It's getting a bit toasty in here. We're in contact with the rescue crew, but 'Don't cut the blue wire' is all we're getting so far." Her forehead glistening with sweat, she added, "I'm a mess. Blotting is a must."

Thirty-five minutes into their ordeal, Garner resorted to pop culture advice, explaining, "I think I heard on The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine that sitting is the way to go. So, here we are, embracing the wisdom of sitcoms."

At the 41-minute mark, the actress's resilience shone as she burst into a rendition of "99 bottles of beer on the wall," turning the tense situation into a moment of levity.

Finally, at the 45-minute milestone, a 911 call was made, only for Garner to humorously quip, "I thought we were in Vegas!" But hope was on the horizon as they began to hear beeps and the elevator lights flickered back to life. Garner seized the moment, belting out Madonna's "Like a Prayer," sending positive vibes into the ether.

It was only after an hour and twelve minutes of captivity that the elevator doors creaked open, revealing a team of seemingly heroic firefighters. Garner and her companions erupted in cheers, their relief palpable.

Despite the mishap, Garner made it to her panel unscathed, her resilience and good humor a testament to her true superhero status.

Last July, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Garner was set to reprise her role as Elektra, Marvel's deadly assassin, in Deadpool 3, marking a triumphant return to the character after nearly two decades. Her initial portrayal in 2003's Daredevil, starring Ben Affleck, had set the stage for this long-awaited comeback.
