Jennifer Lawrence has bravely spoken out about the heart-wrenching plight of children in Gaza during her appearance at the prestigious San Sebastian Film Festival on Friday. "I'm utterly terrified, and it's a feeling of profound mortification," the Oscar-winning actress declared at a press conference, responding to a question from the gathered media. She was in Spain to promote her latest film, Die, My Love. "What's unfolding there is nothing short of genocide, and it's utterly unacceptable. I'm not just terrified for my own children but for all of our children," she passionately articulated.

Lawrence also didn't shy away from addressing the deep-seated divisions among Americans over politics, which she fears could lead to a dangerous sense of alienation among the younger generation. "Above all else, what fills me with immense sadness is the realization that this disrespect and the current discourse in American politics will soon become the norm for them," she lamented. "I mean, for the kids who are now eligible to vote at 18, it will seem entirely natural that politics lacks integrity. Politicians lie; empathy is non-existent," she argued vehemently.

The actress further emphasized that turning a blind eye to war and turmoil in distant lands could lead to similar atrocities occurring closer to home. "Everyone must remember that when you choose to ignore what's happening on one side of the world, it won't be long before it knocks on your own door," Lawrence added, her voice resonating from the film festival podium.

In Die, My Love, Lynn Ramsay's latest cinematic offering that premiered at Cannes, Lawrence portrays a woman grappling with the suffocating obligations of marriage, motherhood, and domesticity in the vast expanses of rural America. These pressures threaten to unravel her sanity. The film also boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Robert Pattinson, Sissy Spacek, Nick Nolte, and LaKeith Stanfield.
