Jennifer Lawrence, with unwavering candor, divulged her reasons for endorsing Kamala Harris in this year's presidential race against Donald Trump. "Abortion is not just an issue; it's a matter of life and death on the ballot," the Oscar-adorned actress passionately shared with People. "My vote goes to Kamala Harris because she embodies an extraordinary candidacy, and I am convinced that she will stop at nothing to safeguard reproductive rights. The paramount priority is to prevent anyone who seeks to outlaw abortion from occupying the White House."

Long known for her vocal advocacy on politics and women's equality, Lawrence has made it clear that she can no longer remain indifferent to the political landscape, deeming it "too dire" and "a matter of life and death." She explained that when she speaks out, online detractors often try to discredit her by highlighting her unfinished education, insinuating that she lacks the intellectual capacity to discuss such matters. However, Lawrence counters that her education stems from the art of storytelling, which is precisely why she endeavors to educate through her production company, Excellent Cadaver, with films that carry a profound message.

Through this very platform, Lawrence is spearheading two upcoming documentaries that illuminate the struggle for women's rights. The first, 'Bread and Roses,' directed by Afghan filmmaker Sahra Mani and co-produced by Malala Yousafzai, promises to be a powerful narrative. The second, 'Zurawski v. Texas,' helmed by Maisie Crow and Abbie Perrault, with Hillary and Chelsea Clinton as co-producers, delves into a post-Roe v. Wade legal battle where 20 women courageously challenged Texas' restrictive abortion laws, alleging that they were denied medically necessary procedures. This documentary follows attorney Molly Duane from the Center for Reproductive Rights and three plaintiffs, including Amanda Zurawski, whose life was put at risk when she was denied an abortion for a nonviable pregnancy. Her ordeal left her with permanent damage, rendering her unable to conceive in the future.

Lawrence, who also stars in 'Don't Look Up,' emphasized that the women featured in 'Zurawski v. Texas' have endured unimaginable suffering, yet they use their experiences to shed light on the human face of politics. "They bear witness to the horrors, ensuring that no other woman has to endure such pain," she said, adding that the film, supported by dating app Bumble, showcases their bravery and selflessness. "Their suffering is not in vain; it's a testament to their heroism as they strive to help others."

"Women are perishing," Lawrence solemnly stated, hoping that these documentaries will awaken people's understanding of abortion and its necessity for some. She underscored the urgency of keeping lawmakers out of healthcare decisions, emphasizing, "These laws are crafted by a select few white men, devoid of medical expertise."

Ultimately, Lawrence expressed her aspiration that 'Zurawski v. Texas' and 'Bread and Roses' will inspire audiences to take action, be it through contacting their representatives, donating to causes, or volunteering. But above all, she stressed, "The most crucial action we can take now is to vote. It's our voice, our power, and our responsibility."
