Jeremy Allen White, who is set to portray the legendary singer and guitarist Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic "Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere," recently opened up about the health challenges he faced while trying to emulate the rocker's voice.

In an interview, the "The Bear" star shared that he experienced vocal strain while attempting to hit the high notes in Springsteen's iconic track "Born in the U.S.A." "We tried to get closer to Bruce's voice, but then there were certain songs like 'Born in the U.S.A.' where there was nothing that could have prepared me," he recalled.
For those unfamiliar, the 34-year-old actor had limited time for vocal training before taking on the role of the 76-year-old rocker in director Scott Cooper's new biopic, which follows a young Springsteen as he records and releases his 1982 album "Nebraska." Due to this limited time, White was not fully prepared to belt out the rock star's iconic 1984 song when he had to sing it on camera. "He had years and years of playing in rooms like this and in s--- P.A. systems, really testing his voice and training, and I didn't have that," he told People. "I didn't have that time, so I needed to shout and that took me out. I remember recording 'Born in the U.S.A.' and losing my voice for a couple of days."
Set to hit theatres on October 24, "Deliver Me From Nowhere" depicts the critical acclaim and success Springsteen found with "Nebraska," launching him to global stardom.
