Jeremy Strong is pouring his heart out about his upcoming role as Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Reckoning, a follow-up to the 2010 film The Social Network. The Succession star will don the tech billionaire's shoes in this new venture, penned by Aaron Sorkin and set for release in October 2026. The film revolves around a young Facebook engineer named Frances Haugen (played by Mikey Madison), who teams up with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (played by Jeremy Allen White) on a daring mission to expose Facebook's deepest secrets.

At the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, Strong — dressed in a vibrant red suit and lighter hair that he joked was "for work" — told The Hollywood Reporter, "It's one of the most captivating scripts I've ever read. It speaks to our times, it touches the third rail of our world's most pressing issues. It's a compelling, complex character, and I'm approaching it with great care, empathy, and objectivity. I've already worked with Aaron on two films (The Trial of the Chicago 7 and Molly's Game), and I'm hoping this third time will be the charm."
When asked if he had spoken to Jesse Eisenberg, who was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Zuckerberg in the first film, Strong replied, "No, I think that has nothing to do with what I'm going to do." Strong is portraying an older version of the CEO in this follow-up, which takes place 17 years after the events of The Social Network. Sorkin is not only writing but also directing this film; he won an Oscar for penning the original movie, which was directed by David Fincher.
