Let me introduce you to the sweetest bundle of joy you will ever encounter. On August 26th, Jersey Shore star Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola and her fiancé Justin May announced on Instagram the arrival of their firstborn, Vincent Keith May, who made his debut on August 20th. Alongside the announcement, Sammi penned, "Welcome to the world, my rainbow miracle baby." She further expressed, "After this lengthy journey to reach this moment, words fail to encapsulate our profound blessings and heartfelt gratitude. We're encapsulated in a bubble of baby love, indefinitely." Adding to her emotional outpouring, she wrote, "Okay, I can't stop shedding tears of joy. Thank you, God."
The couple first revealed their pregnancy news through an Instagram post featuring their sonogram photos, dated February 23rd. Sammi captioned it, "We've been harboring a little secret... Baby May Due August 2025." The 37-year-old continued, "After years of battling infertility, this is the utmost blessing we could have ever hoped for! We're over the moon to finally share the news of our tiny miracle with you all! Our hearts are brimming with love; we can hardly wait to meet you, baby!"
Their wait has been particularly trying. During Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Sammi opened up about her journey with in vitro fertilization (IVF) in the November 21st episode of the reunion series, revealing she had suffered a pregnancy loss. She shared with the camera, "This has been an extensive process, involving numerous injections and hormones. Just the thought of being pregnant was magical for me, and having that taken away was devastating."
Through these challenging times, Sammi and Justin have leaned on each other for unwavering support. Sammi told E! News at the time, "Justin and I are going through this together, and he's incredibly supportive. He's so positive. He keeps me going and is the best partner through all of this. He's simply amazing."
Exhibit A of Justin's support came on the very night Sammi spoke openly about her miscarriage on camera. He surprised her by taking her out for a birthday dinner with family and friends, where he got down on one knee and proposed to her, two years into their relationship. "I feel like the luckiest girl in the world," she gushed. "Justin entering my life has made it a million times better. He's everything I could ever ask for in a man. He's patient, supportive, and I love and adore him immensely."
Justin isn't the only transformation Sammi has undergone in recent years. Though she initially declined to participate in the Jersey Shore reboot, which premiered in 2018, six years after the original series concluded, the OG star decided to return for season 6, bringing her fiancé along. She explained to Variety in July 2023, "I missed filming all those years. Why not come back and give it another shot to see if I like it?" She continued, "I've been through a lot in the past years. It's been so long, and regardless of whether it was good or bad, at least everyone gets to see me again."
