A pivotal moment of redemption for Jessica Simpson looms eight years in the making. As she marked the eighth anniversary of her sobriety on November 2nd, the "With You" singer reflected on her decision to bid adieu to alcohol in 2017, sharing that this lifestyle transformation has wrought a monumental impact.
"Eight years ago today, I made the courageous choice to confront, confess, and let go of the self-sabotaging aspects of my life that I had chosen," she wrote on Instagram. "This decision allowed me to fully embrace the pursuit of God's purpose for my life."

The 45-year-old, who shares children Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, 6, with estranged husband Eric Johnson, elaborated on the transformative difference sobriety has made in her overall being. "Alcohol had silenced my intuition, stifled my dreams, and chased after my looming fears of complacency," she continued. "Today, I am clear-headed. Today, I am driven by faith. Faith and fear are intangible emotions we feel but may not see – I'm overjoyed that I chose faith over fear."
Jessica added, "My strength didn't come from the fight; it came from the surrender."
The Dukes of Hazzard star is undoubtedly embracing a new chapter in her life. Following her announcement of her breakup with Eric in January, she's set to make her return to the screen in the upcoming legal drama All's Fair alongside luminaries such as Kim Kardashian, Niecy Nash, and Sarah Paulson.
"I feel reborn at 45," she told E! News' Erin Lim Rhodes at the series' Los Angeles premiere in October. "It's like a resurrection of everything entertainment for me, and it's so nice."
Jessica also ended a lengthy hiatus from singing with the release of her EP Nashville Canyon: Part 1 earlier this year, along with a string of concerts throughout 2025. "There was a 15-year break and it felt very long," she admitted. "I didn't want it to be that long, but then I had another kid and it was like, OK, I'm gonna continue to be a mom and just grow the brand, grow the Jessica Simpson collection as much as possible."
Now that Jessica has her wheels spinning again as a performer, she's eager to keep up the momentum. "It was an exhilarating experience," she said of her acting turn in All's Fair. "I'm craving doing it again."
