Jessie J, displaying remarkable strength and keeping her adoring fans informed, continues her journey of recovery from surgery following her breast cancer diagnosis with unwavering spirit. On July 1st, Tuesday, the 37-year-old vocalist offered a heartfelt glimpse into her healing journey through a series of sincere Instagram Stories. "I'm good," she reassured, her words echoing warmth and resilience.
Admitting that what she missed the most was being an active mother and individual, she nonetheless found solace in the slower pace of life, noting, "But it's been nice to slow down, and Sky is having a blast with Nanny and Grandad." Jessie, whose full name is Jessica Cornish, shares her cherished two-year-old son, Sky, with her partner Chanan Safir Colman.
Regarding her recovery, the talented "Domino" singer candidly acknowledged that the process was still somewhat "uncomfortable" and "a little painful," yet she reassuringly assured her fans that she was managing well. "I can handle that," she stated with determination.
She also detailed the measures she was taking to nurture herself post-surgery, including diligently performing her recovery exercises and embracing a "super clean" diet. In terms of pain management, Jessie revealed that she had chosen to discontinue pain medication. "I have stopped," she confessed. "Just not my thing. Plus, I like to feel how it feels so I don't overdo it."
Adding a touch of humor to her update, she jestingly celebrated a minor yet significant post-op milestone. "I have now done a [washroom emoji]," she quipped, likely alluding to using the restroom, and added that she was still carrying "my drain... Hoping it's out by the end of the week."
Despite the challenges, her focus remained firmly on the positives. "Feeling positive and grateful," she penned, encapsulating her overall mindset during her recovery. Jessie kindly reminded her fans that if they happened to catch her looking "a little out of it," it was simply a part of the healing process. "It's not personal. I don't have what I usually have to give energy-wise, understandably. I will get there. It's a slow road. For now, I am taking it easy. Enjoying the slow vibes and staying positive," she shared with empathy.
She posted a heartwarming photograph of herself cradling her young son, captioning it, "Soon my boy, we will cuddle." Earlier this year, Jessie had bravely revealed her breast cancer diagnosis, writing in an Instagram post on June 3rd, "Highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding on to the word early."
