Joe Keery Debuts Bleach Blonde Hair Transformation at Golden Globes 2026

Joe Keery gracefully bid farewell to "Stranger Things," but where one chapter ends, another begins. As he walked the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes, the 33-year-old actor seemed poised and ready for whatever adventures lie ahead.

For the occasion, Joe arrived in a sleek Louis Vuitton suit with black trousers and a white blazer, allowing his newly transformed blonde locks to speak for themselves. Although his hair was shorter and lighter than it was when he portrayed Steve "The Hair" Harrington, he still channelled his character's effortless charm as he smiled at photographers.

Despite the fact that "Stranger Things" didn't receive any nominations at the 2026 Golden Globes, the cast and crew of the Netflix series couldn't be more proud of the final result. For Joe, looking back on the decade he spent working on the hit Netflix show, he knows that a project is only as strong as the many hands that bring it to life.

"Somebody said there were 8,000 people that worked on this show," he told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on "The Tonight Show" on November 27th. "You associate the actors with the show and with the characters, obviously, but it truly is just a testament to the massive group of people that put their lives into this thing."

One element from the show that Joe is particularly proud of is the arc his character underwent across five seasons, going from an arrogant and often dismissive popular kid to an earnest - if not still sometimes arrogant - team player.

"The thing I loved about the character, and loved that they gave me, is that he kind of has a change of heart and realizes the error in his ways," Joe explained. "And I think right now there's kind of a lot of opportunity for that, for people to sort of choose to do the right thing."

After all, he added, "The show is about a group of outcasts that come together and, you can be from all walks of life. But I just love that the character kind of makes that choice."

As he looks to the future, Steve will always be with him. As he put it, "It was just a real pleasure to play for 10 years."
