"Midway through a flight to Detroit to visit my buddy Dave, I received a text from my best friend's brother: 'Call me.' My heart sank. 'Is Mike alright?' I quickly replied. The response seemed to linger in eternity, those agonizing ellipsis dots lingering on my screen. Eventually, just two harsh letters appeared: 'No,'" he began his poignant caption on his somber social media post.

Stamos elaborated that Owen had been his closest confidant since the tender age of 11, succumbing to "a sudden heart attack—just like that," dealing a "bizarre and crushing" blow. "Mike wasn't merely my friend; he was the epitome of friendship. My all-encompassing buddy. From our initial encounter, we were inseparable, two boys discovering magic in Disneyland and in each other's company," penned the actor of "Fuller House."

He further articulated, "He was the individual who always let me shine, content to stand in the background, cheering me on. Mike possessed a unique ability to make the world feel steadfast. He wasn't flashy, didn't crave the spotlight, didn't desire more than what he possessed. His gift was something most people strive for throughout their lives: contentment. It wasn't laziness; it was tranquility."

"Losing Mike feels akin to losing a fragment of myself, as though chapters of my life narrative are now missing. He knew every secret, every joy, every sorrow," the actor added.

This monumental loss comes on the heels of Stamos offering support to his former co-star and "brother from the very beginning," Dave Coulier, who had recently announced his cancer diagnosis. "I'll stand by your side through it all," the actor of "Grandfathered" wrote alongside a montage of photos capturing their bond over the years.

Concluding his tribute to his deceased buddy, the 61-year-old said, "Mike, I'll miss you every single day. You were my brother, my guiding star, my dearest friend. You taught me to find joy in simplicity, to laugh through life's toughest moments, and to cherish what we have while we still have it. I love you. Always. Rest in peace, my friend."

Fans and friends flooded the comment section with their condolences for the star's loss. "I'm deeply sorry. Sending all my love to you," penned Candace Cameron Bure, while another comment read, "Absolutely heartbroken for you; my deepest sympathies." A third offered virtual "hugs" during this trying time: "This year has been incredibly challenging."
