JoJo Siwa finds immense joy in deepening her understanding of herself. Once identifying as a lesbian following her coming out in 2021, the singer of "Karma" has embarked on a new romantic journey with Chris Hughes, a fellow contestant from Big Brother UK, revealing a shift in her sexual identity within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. "The term that resonates with me the most now is 'queer,'" JoJo exclusively confided to Francesca Amiker of E! News. "It's an encompassing term that says, 'I am simply myself.' The LGBTQIA community beautifully embodies the notion that love knows no bounds and transcends labels."
She further elaborated, "The realm of sexuality and queerness is akin to a dazzling rainbow, encompassing a myriad of unique and beautiful expressions—some of which we haven't even discovered yet. This diversity is what makes it so enchanting."
Addressing potential critics, JoJo, whose previous relationship with Australian influencer Kath Ebbs concluded at the Big Brother UK afterparty in April, stands firm in her conviction. At 22, she feels no obligation to justify her choices, just as she did when she came out at 17. "I'm in complete alignment with myself, content and overjoyed with my happiness," she expressed. "I'm serene and assured in my current state, reveling in the authenticity of the love I feel. One cannot control whom they fall in love with."
Indeed, it was her love for Chris that illuminated for her the truth that "there is no definitive way to be oneself." JoJo shared, "With Christopher, I've never doubted my feelings for him. Consequently, I've never questioned my happiness or what I feel. This unwavering certainty is what I find most beautiful."
"The mere thought of him fills me with pure, unadulterated joy," she emphasized. "Speaking about him brings the same overwhelming sense of bliss."
Yet, JoJo's blossoming romance is not the sole source of joy in her life. As an alumnus of Dance Moms, she has embarked on a collaboration with the NMDP Registry, an organization dedicated to treating and curing blood cancers and disorders by connecting patients in need with blood stem cell donors. "I have a deep-seated love for helping others," she revealed.
"The idea of potentially saving someone's life captivates me," JoJo elaborated. "Finding a match is incredibly rare, which underscores the dire need for more registered donors. Knowing that I could be part of that lifesaving pool fills me with immense happiness and a profound sense of purpose."
"The thought of making such a difference brings me immense joy," she continued. "For some inexplicable reason, this cause resonates deeply within me, as if a part of my heart belongs to it."
