In his latest episode of The Daily Show, the hilarious and irreverent Jon Stewart poked fun at the sudden cancellation of The Bachelorette Season 22, which was scrapped by ABC just days before its premiere, amidst a controversy surrounding its star, Taylor Frankie Paul.

Stewart began his monologue with a playful jab at the chaotic state of Donald Trump's America, describing it as a "dizzying, chaotic carnival ride." He then turned his attention to the show he was looking forward to, saying, "The only thing giving me joy is looking forward to this season of The Bachelorette."

He continued, "I mean, they've got a strong Mormon woman. She seems lovely. I hope that she finds love." However, his joy was short-lived as he jokingly pretended to be distraught upon learning of the show's cancellation.

"Hold on a second, I'm getting a call. Nooo!" he exclaimed, mimicking a call that would inform him of the cancellation.

The cancellation came after allegations of domestic violence involving Taylor Frankie Paul resurfaced. Paul was arrested in February 2023 after her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, reported that she was assaulting him. Furthermore, TMZ published a video of the incident on March 19, 2026, prompting ABC to cancel Paul's season on The Bachelorette.

"In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family," ABC announced in a statement.

Stewart's quip on the situation was a light-hearted and humorous take on a serious issue, showcasing his signature brand of sarcastic commentary and his ability to turn any situation into a joke.
