The cause of Wright's death has not yet been released, as investigators await the results of an autopsy. According to police, a worker found the body of a British man in stagnant water near Bang Tao Beach in Phuket on March 14th, at around 12:30 p.m. The location was approximately 20 minutes away from the hotel where Wright had been staying.

Police Chief Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale district station identified the guest as Mr. Jordan Wright, a British national who the hotel had been unable to contact. A search of the room revealed no signs of forced entry or other irregularities. Hotel records showed that Wright had checked in alone and was due to check out on March 13th, but staff reported that he never checked out.

According to police Lieutenant Colonel Suthirak Chuthong, CCTV footage appeared to show that Wright looked "restless and was moving back and forth in front of the hotel before leaving the area." His movements eventually led to the location where his body was later discovered. Authorities believe Wright had been dead for no more than two days before being found, and the "case remains under investigation while we wait for the official autopsy results."

Wright first gained fame when he appeared on MTV UK's Ex on the Beach in 2017, before appearing on The Only Way Is Essex the following year. In recent years, Wright had documented his life on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into his workout routines, motorcycle rides, and vacations, including in the weeks leading up to his passing. His last post on the platform was a carousel of photos from Thailand posted on March 6th, which he captioned, "I’m Home."
