Joshua Jackson recently recounted his heartwarming experience of bringing his daughter along to the set of "Karate Kid: Legends." At the movie's grand premiere on May 27, while chatting with PEOPLE, the beloved "Dawson's Creek" star disclosed that he had his five-year-old daughter, Juno, whom he shares with Jodie Turner-Smith, accompany him on set.
Joshua reminisced about how Juno visited Montreal for around five to six days, as his brother resided there. "It was a joyous family trip, and I brought her to the set on the day we were filming the intense fight scene," said the 46-year-old actor. He admitted that this decision was perhaps "not the brightest idea." "She wasn't fond of watching her dad get pounded on," he confessed with a hint of sheepishness. Consequently, Joshua mentioned, "I don't foresee us watching it together during its theatrical run, but in a couple of years, I think we'll be just fine."
The "Fringe" actor further disclosed that this was the very first time he had taken Juno to his workplace. Elsewhere in the interview, Joshua shared his summer plans with excitement. "In a matter of weeks, she'll graduate from [Transitional Kindergarten] TK, and then we have summer camp lined up. We'll cross the bridge when we get to it," the actor elaborated.
In a separate interview with the TODAY show, Joshua revealed the rigorous fitness training he underwent for the film, which resulted in him gaining 20 pounds. "I usually weigh around 175, but for this movie, I bulked up to almost 195," he continued. He noted, "It was more challenging than I anticipated. I was consuming a whopping 4,000 calories every day."
Meanwhile, "Karate Kids: Legends" is set to mesmerize audiences in theaters starting May 30.
