Julia Fox is urging Taylor Swift's critics to take a deep breath and relax. The star of *Uncut Gems* stepped forward to defend the "Down Bad" singer—who is currently engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce—by calling out the online backlash directed at athletes' wives and girlfriends (WAGs) when their partners fail to perform at their peak.
"I recall when Travis Kelce lost a game, and suddenly people were pointing the finger at Taylor Swift, claiming it was her fault," Julia shared with *Pedestrian.TV* in an interview published on September 24. "It was like, 'What? That's absolutely insane!' But blaming women—that's something they love to do."
Indeed, Julia, 35, highlighted how some sports fans' tendency to hold a player's romantic partner accountable for their on-field performance reveals a glaring double standard. "If a guy loses a game, it's automatically the girl's 'fault,'" she explained. "It's just bonkers. And all the superstitions, all the irrational nonsense that these men subscribe to, it inevitably leads to a woman being blamed."
"It's like, 'Wow, I didn't realize we wielded that much power,'" Julia continued, with a hint of sarcasm. "So, are you admitting that we're actually powerful?"
Nonetheless, Travis, also 35, has shown accountability for his past mistakes on the field. Earlier this month, he took responsibility for a collision with teammate Xavier Worthy during the Chiefs' September 5 season opener, which left the 22-year-old with a shoulder injury.
"I owe my guy big time, man," Travis admitted on the September 10 episode of his *New Heights* podcast. "X knows it. I felt terrible. I could barely even play the rest of that first half, man. But we rallied once I found out he was in better spirits than I'd imagined."
While Travis described the situation as "frustrating," he underscored his commitment to improvement. "I've been in the league for 13 years," he noted. "There's no excuse for me running into my own teammates like that."
