Julia Stiles recently reminisced about a piece of advice that has stayed with her through the years. In a "Get Ready with Me" video recorded in partnership with the beauty brand Merit and posted on Instagram, she recalled, "I remember being an auditioning actress as a teenager, and every single audition that I went to, they'd say, 'You need to smile more. Just smile, be more bubbly and effervescent. Because you're so serious. You're too serious.'"
The 45-year-old American actress continued, "And that just made me angry, but luckily I found the role of Kat Stratford in 10 Things I Hate About You." Reflecting on her breakthrough role as Kat Stratford in the 1999 comedy romance film, she admitted, "It was just so much fun playing her because she wasn't driven by everybody else's judgment of her."
