Juno Temple, a standout star from the beloved series "Ted Lasso," is making a triumphant return to Apple TV+, albeit in a fresh, intriguing venture. The four-time Emmy Awards nominee is set to shine in "The Husbands," a delightfully quirky comedy-drama adapted from Holly Gramazio's smash-hit novel of the same name. This captivating show stems from the prestigious A24 studio, the mind behind acclaimed streamer originals like "Sunny" and "Mr. Corman."
While negotiations are still ongoing for Temple to reprise her iconic role as Keeley Jones in the soon-to-be-fourth season of "Ted Lasso," picked up by Apple with much enthusiasm, she's diving into a whole new world with "The Husbands." In this enigmatic tale, Temple transforms into Lauren, who steps into her London flat to be met by her husband, Michael – a man she's never laid eyes on before. According to the show's intriguing synopsis, "A bizarre twist unfolds as Lauren grapples with the mystery of being married to a stranger. Meanwhile, Michael ventures up to the attic to replace a lightbulb and, quite suddenly, vanishes, replaced by an entirely different husband. As Lauren realizes her attic is a portal churning out an endless stream of husbands, she's left pondering: If swapping lives is as simple as flipping a light switch, how can one ever be sure they've chosen the right path? At what point does the pursuit of perfection cease, and the joy of living truly begin?"
Miriam Battye, whose credits include "Succession" and Prime Video's "Dead Ringers," will pen the eight-episode journey of "The Husbands" as its head writer. She'll executive produce alongside directorial whiz Craig Gillespie ("I, Tonya"), Annie Marter of Fortunate Jack Productions, Gramazio, and A24.
Temple's storied career has garnered her three Emmy nods for her "Ted Lasso" endeavors and another for her leading role in the recent season of FX's "Fargo." Her impressive resume also boasts titles like "Venom: The Last Dance," "The Offer," and "Dirty John." Represented by UTA, B-Side Management, Maison 2, and Lichter Grossman, Temple is poised to enchant audiences once again.
Battye is represented by Independent Talent and UTA, while Gillespie and Fortunate Jack Productions are with CAA and Sloane Offer. Gramazio's representation includes David Higham Associates, WME, and Frankfurt Kurnit, setting the stage for a collaborative masterpiece brimming with wit, whimsy, and poignant life lessons.
