Isabela Ferrer, who embodied the youthful counterpart of Blake Lively's character in "It Ends With Us," has taken a defiant stance against Justin Baldoni amidst their ongoing legal skirmish with Lively. Ferrer's legal council has accused the actor-filmmaker of "harassing" her through a subpoena entwined in this contentious case.
As reported by PEOPLE, Ferrer's attorneys filed a scathing rejoinder to Baldoni's motion dated August 12, which indicted her for disregarding his subpoena. In their submission, Ferrer's team contended that the motion was orchestrated "for ulterior motives and with the express intent to harass" her, rather than serving any legitimate judicial purpose.
The rejoinder also shed light on the alleged shortcomings of Wayfarer Studios, Baldoni's production house, which Ferrer claims breached her acting contract. According to her lawyers, this contract stipulated that the studio should bear her legal expenses upon her initial subpoena by Lively in February. However, they allege that Wayfarer offered to foot the bill only if Ferrer relinquished control over her response, a stipulation her side maintains would have stifled her ability to disclose documents that "uncover the genuine truth."
Her legal representatives further lambasted Baldoni for making "no attempt to tailor the subpoena to solicit new or diverse materials," asserting that both the filing and motion were merely "vehicles to harass Ms. Ferrer." They described these actions as "transparent attempts to exert undue pressure on Ms. Ferrer."
Now, Ferrer's legal council is urging the court not only to dismiss Baldoni's motion but also to impose sanctions against him. This dispute adds another intricate layer to the already charged legal saga encompassing the film and the allegations entwined within it.
