Justin Baldoni in no mood to 'revise' claims against Blake Lively

In an unexpected turn of events, Justin Baldoni has opted not to pursue further refinements in his countersuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds amidst their ongoing legal battle over "It Ends with Us." Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, has announced that they will refrain from submitting any amendments to the $400 million countersuit initially filed against Lively and her spouse, Reynolds.

In a statement, Freedman declared, "The Court's ruling on the motion to dismiss holds no sway over the undisputed fact that neither harassment nor any smear campaign transpired, nor does it compromise our steadfast defense against Ms. Lively's allegations." He further emphasized, "Discovery proceedings are underway, and we remain confident in our eventual triumph over these devoid-of-merit accusations."

Rather than revising the current claims, Baldoni's legal team will venture into alternative legal avenues. Freedman elaborated, "Our clients have chosen to explore additional legal options at our disposal, eschewing any revisions to the existing claims."

In response to this development, a representative for Lively stated, "The Court's comprehensive dismissal of the $400 million lawsuit filed by Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios stands unchallenged. Initially, following the dismissal, Baldoni's counsel downplayed the Court's decision, vowing to amend and refile. As it turns out, that was merely an empty promise. The Court's dismissal of Baldoni's spurious lawsuit marks an outright victory."

The lawsuit, titled Lively v. Wayfarer Studios et al., is slated for trial in March 2026. The saga continues to unfold, with recent twists including the denial of Lively's motion for a protective order, which sought to exclude her communications with Taylor Swift concerning "It Ends with Us" from Baldoni's grasp.
