Justin Bieber finds himself pondering the verge of apology's expiry date. The singer behind "What Do You Mean?" recalled a fraught moment from August last year, when his wife Hailey Bieber was giving birth to their 15-month-old son, Jack Blues Bieber.
"I remember the tension," he recounted during a Twitch live stream on October 27th, as captured on social media footage. "We had a doula and a nurse, and they were butting heads, and then I was butting heads with the doula myself."

"I was emotionally raw because it's one of the most crucial moments in your life," Justin continued. "I think I was being really assertive with the doula."
The first-time dad admitted that his "good instincts" when it came to his newborn son occasionally clashed with the doula during Hailey's labor process. "I didn't want you to take away from my moment as the dad either," Justin remembered telling the doula. "I got this too. There were times when I needed to console Hailey, and I felt like she was pushing me to the side so that she could do [her job]."
Hailey, for her part, didn't approve of their interactions and urged Justin to apologize to the doula. "You need to apologize to the doula," she insisted. "Just clear the air."
Hailey had previously opened up about the complications she endured during her pregnancy, which included being medically induced and spanning 18 hours. "Giving birth was the hardest thing I've ever done," she told Vogue in a cover story interview published in May. "I was on that s--t. I was doing everything. I felt stronger physically than I ever had before."
She also revealed that doctors used a Foley balloon—a catheter inserted into the uterus and filled with saline to induce labor—to make for an even more uncomfortable experience. "That s--t was so crazy," Hailey said. "That was not fun. They broke my water. I went into labor and I labored for a few hours. No epidural, nothing."
Despite her fears, Hailey had faith in her medical team. "I trust my doctor with my life," she explained. "And so I had peace knowing she would never let anything happen to me. But I was bleeding really badly, and people die, and the thought crossed my mind."
