On Friday, Justin Timberlake's 2024 DWI arrest footage was released despite the pop singer's attempts to prevent it. The footage was made public after Timberlake reached a settlement with the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and local officials. A redacted version of the body camera footage was released, with TMZ being the first to do so.
In a lawsuit filed earlier this year, Timberlake's lawyers argued that the release of the video would "devastate" his privacy by revealing "intimate, highly personal, and sensitive details." However, it appears that Timberlake agreed to the public release of a version of the footage that "does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy."

The video shows Timberlake being given a series of field sobriety instructions. At one point, he says, "These are, like, hard tests." When asked if he's visiting the area, he replies, "Yeah, I'm on tour... I'm on a world tour." The officer then asks for clarification, but Timberlake says, "It's hard to explain... umm... I'm Justin Timberlake."
The officer then asks Timberlake for his license and the vehicle's registration before telling him to exit the vehicle to ensure he was "good to drive." According to PEOPLE, per documents obtained, Timberlake was cited for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. He was released without bail and photographed leaving court.
In June 2024, the "Sexy Back" singer was arrested on DWI charges after having dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. He was pulled over after leaving dinner to drive to his friend's house and refused three times to take a Breathalyzer test. A Sag Harbor Police Department spokesperson said that Timberlake was cited for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.
