Kaitlyn Bristowe's journey through recovery from her breast augmentation surgery wasn't quite the bed of roses she might have envisioned. Three months post-op, with new implants in place, the beloved Bachelor Nation star opened up about her experience, earnestly advising those contemplating a similar path to ensure they have "a dedicated caregiver" by their side throughout the healing journey.
"I naively assumed I'd sail through it unscathed but ended up neglecting my medication schedule and found myself in a scary spiral of pain medication dependency," Kaitlyn confessed in an Instagram Stories Q&A on August 21th, as reported by Us Weekly. "It was a wake-up call."
The 40-year-old also stressed the importance of placing unwavering "trust" in one's surgeon. "Steer clear of social media, avoid making impulsive decisions, and resist the urge to shop," she warned. "I couldn't resist the shopping spree and barely recall it now."
Kaitlyn has always maintained an open book policy when it comes to her cosmetic enhancements. She has previously shared her experiences with a brow lift, microblading (since her days on Chris Soules' season of The Bachelor in 2015), lip fillers, and dental bonding. "I've finally mastered the art of contouring," she quipped in a 2021 post on X (formerly Twitter). "Oh, and I've gained a bit of weight too."
In December, the host of Are You My First? underwent blepharoplasty, a procedure designed to eliminate excess fat and skin from the upper eyelids. According to Kaitlyn, she sought this surgery to address what she termed a "very hooded lid."
"This has been a long-standing pet peeve of mine," she elaborated on Instagram this January. "I also wanted to reduce my reliance on Botox, so I figured a blepharoplasty could help me achieve that wide-eyed look without excessive Botox."
She added thoughtfully, "I'm not here to sway you or convince you that you need one too. I'm merely being transparent and sharing the twists and turns of my personal journey."
