Kaitlyn Bristowe has nothing to hide when it comes to her feelings for Jessi Draper. Amidst the rumors that the former Bachelorette was feuding with the star of "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," Kaitlyn set the record straight and explained what really transpired.
"I can't believe this is a thing right now," Kaitlyn said in an Instagram video on April 21. "The other day, I posted a photo and wrote, 'Imagine hating me, and I'm just happy,' because I was with family, and I'm always so content when I'm with them."
"People were trolling me earlier," she continued. "A girl came on and said, 'People who are happy don't have to tell us they're happy.' And I was like, 'Oh, it's not that deep.'"
The 40-year-old revealed that Jessi left a supportive message in the comments section, but then the entire post was mysteriously deleted—sparking speculation of their feud.
"I reposted it and wrote this underneath: 'I already posted this, and somehow it got deleted. So if the person who always has some passive-aggressive thing to say wants to repeat the comment, please do.' Because I was addressing the one troll," Kaitlyn explained as a screenshot of her comment was featured behind her. "Then I just tagged [Jessi] because I wanted her to know that I saw her comment."
But shortly afterwards, a fan responded to Kaitlyn's initial comment about the troll and encouraged her to tag the person. And because Kaitlyn had already tagged Jessi without any other context, fans interpreted that as the "Off the Vine" podcast host identifying Jessi as the troll.
"Somehow, this got turned into that I have a beef with her," Kaitlyn said. "It's just crazy how people run with things."
To prove there was no drama between them, Kaitlyn included screenshots of her direct messages with the MomToker, in which they cleared the air and laughed over the miscommunication.
"I feel like people are so wild on the internet," Kaitlyn added in her video. "They're just foaming at the mouth for women to be fighting. Whose side are we taking when we don't know anything about it?"
In the caption of her post, the "Dancing With the Stars" alum doubled down on her message. "Instead of milking it like others would, I'm letting you know it's a nothing burger," she wrote. "Love you, Jessi."
Jessi, 33, also made sure to emphasize that their friendship was still perfectly intact, commenting, "Hahahah ILY."
