Kanye West is truly on a rampage. In the past 24 hours, the rapper has unleashed a torrent of tweets, saying virtually every conceivable thing that came to his mind. He's insulted the Jewish community, lavished praise on Diddy, and boldly declared his independence from anyone's control, all in a series of tweets that left nearly everyone offended. Renowned rap peers, such as Travis Scott, even went to the extent of unfollowing him in the aftermath of this fiery outburst. But it seems his spree was far from over.
Continuing his rant on Friday, Kanye West posted a list of rappers he claimed had never betrayed him. This list was neither what we anticipated nor composed of names one would readily guess. Kanye West insisted that peers like Young Thug, Playboi Carti, and A$AP Rocky had never switched sides against him. Other rappers featured on this list included Quavo, Eminem, and most perplexingly, A$AP Nast. Nast's inclusion is baffling on several fronts. The rapper has never officially collaborated with Kanye West and hasn't achieved the same level of fame as the other mentioned names. Nevertheless, Nast found himself on the list alongside his fellow A$AP Mob member Rocky, implying that he must have made a significant impression on West.
Kanye West further elaborated on why it's so challenging for rappers to avoid betraying or manipulating him in some way. Unsurprisingly, West's explanation was a massive ego boost for himself. "I believe it's just the inherent nature of the rap game," he opined. "Everyone aspires to be number one. So, it's tough for them to accept that I am the one and there's only one Ye God on this earth." Kanye West has always held himself in high esteem, but in recent weeks, his self-aggrandizement has reached a new, grandiose level. During his second interview on the Download podcast, the rapper proudly declared himself the "King" of the rap game.
"I've already conquered the rap world. I've already triumphed over the money game," Kanye West told his fans. "I've already beaten the toughest competition. I've already outdone Drake." The comment about Drake was particularly revealing, especially since he later praised Kendrick Lamar in the same Download interview. He claimed that Lamar had defeated Drake and stated that no rapper should oppose Lamar. However, at the same time, he asserted his ability to compete with the Compton icon because he's a "genius."
