Kanye West, now rebranded as Ye, made a momentous announcement on Monday that he would be performing in India for the very first time on May 23, 2026. According to Ye's Instagram story, the highly anticipated one-night-only concert, titled "YE Live In India," is set to take place at the illustrious Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi at 8 p.m. on the aforementioned date.

This announcement comes just two days after Swiss football club FC Basel revealed that they had cancelled a Kanye West concert, making them the latest European venue to halt or postpone the US rapper's performances amidst a widespread backlash over his past antisemitic remarks. FC Basel, which is responsible for concerts and events held at their St. Jakob-Park grounds, informed Reuters that after a thorough review of the request for West to perform, they had decided against allowing his concert to go ahead.
A Polish stadium also announced on Friday that it would cancel a West concert, days after he postponed a show in France. Earlier this month, Britain had blocked the 48-year-old from travelling there to headline a festival.
Kanye West, now known as Ye, apologised in January for his behaviour, which he attributed to untreated bipolar disorder, and renounced past expressions of admiration for Adolf Hitler.
