Amber Rose has taken some of the blame for Kanye West's infamous outburst at the 2009 VMAs. On Tuesday's episode of "Ball in the Family" podcast with Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball, Rose, 42, admitted to hyping up West and encouraging him to drink before the awards show. She recalled telling Ye, "You're a f**king superstar. We need to get that [Hennessy]. We need to be on the carpet just taking shots of Henny on the carpet." The rapper quickly agreed and proceeded to grab the bottle.
"It kind of backfired because all of a sudden I'm just sitting there and then he's on stage," Rose said. "I'm like, 'Oh s--t. I was not expecting that.'"

"That's naturally Kanye's personality," she continued. "Do I agree with how he did it? No. But was he right? Yes. That's how I feel."
Despite the controversial moment, Rose said she has spoken with Taylor Swift since the incident and that there is no bad blood between the celebrities. The awards show moment went down in history and started a years-long feud between West and Swift. The pop star, 36, even took a swipe at him during her Eras Tour in 2023.
West, 48, dated the Philadelphia-born stripper-turned-model from 2008-2010. The couple allegedly broke up due to the rapper's interest in Kim Kardashian - who would later go on to become his wife. In 2012, Rose called out the "Kardashians" star as a "homewrecker." West and Kardashian later ended their relationship in early 2021.
He moved on from the relationship with his current wife, Yeezy architect Bianca Censori. After ending things with West, Rose began dating rapper Wiz Khalifa whom she married in 2013. The couple eventually called it quits after one year of marriage in 2014 and share a 13-year-old son, Sebastian Taylor Thomaz.
She eventually moved on with Alexander "AE" Edwards, with whom she shares a 6-year-old son, Slash Electric Alexander Edwards. Rose has also been romantically linked to rapper 21 Savage and MGK in the past.
