Kanye "Ye" West is entangled in a web of fresh legal woes. More than a year has passed since his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, initially filed a lawsuit against him for alleged wrongful dismissal, sexual harassment, among other grievances. Now, according to documents procured by E! News, Pisciotta's legal team has submitted a second, revised complaint dated July 8th, laced with additional accusations.
Pisciotta, who had been in Ye's employ for a year and a half since her hiring in July 2021, painted a picture of a workplace infiltrated by hostility. She accused West of assault, battery, sex trafficking, gender discrimination, stalking, false imprisonment, intentionally inflicting emotional distress, and a failure to curb harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. In her legal filings, the 36-year-old lambasted West, branding him a "sexual predator, harasser, cyberbully, anti-Semite, bigot, and misogynist who openly embraces these labels with pride."
Her attorneys contended that the rapper had dangling a "once-in-a-lifetime career-boosting opportunity," which Pisciotta believed would propel her ambitions and elevate her career to unprecedented heights. Instead, she alleged, West made "lewd remarks about her physique," compelled her to don "tight-fitting attire," frequently groped her, and compelled her to "witness his sexual escapades with other women."
The complaint further alleged that West falsely imprisoned Pisciotta by "deliberately locking her in his airplane bedroom with him," causing her to be "confined with Ye for an extended period – long enough for him to masturbate until he drifted off to sleep." She claimed she was expected to engage in sexting with West, was repeatedly invited to join his sexual encounters despite her refusals, and accused him of sexually assaulting her on one occasion. Her lawyers accused West of threatening to terminate her employment if she did not comply with his demands.
"For nearly two years, Ye terrorized and dominated the life of his employee, Ms. Pisciotta," the document asserted, "all while masquerading as a beacon offering genuine career advancement in the music and fashion realms." Her attorneys also alleged that even after her "abrupt termination" in the autumn of 2023, West "persisted in subjugating and intimidating Pisciotta through assault, battery, stalking, and harassment." Following West's move into her Los Angeles apartment complex, Pisciotta reportedly relocated to Florida, "fearing for her safety."
Pisciotta is seeking general damages to be assessed at trial, past and future earnings determined at trial, attorneys' fees, punitive and exemplary damages, and any relief that "the Court deems appropriate."
