The royal duo, Kate Middleton and Prince William, made a grand entrance in London on November 19th, dazzling in their matching velvet ensembles for the Royal Variety Performance – their first red carpet outing in two years. As they posed for photographers inside the Royal Albert Hall, William exuded elegance in a black velvet suit, while Kate added a touch of vibrant color with her emerald green dress and silver accessories.
Their date night was filled with royal charm as they watched British comedian Jason Manford host the annual event, which raises funds for the Royal Variety Charity, supporting those who have worked professionally in the entertainment world. The evening was filled with performances from singers Jessie J, Laufey, and the West End cast of Les Misérables, all in true harmony with the program’s theme.

Kate and William’s latest outing comes two years after their previous appearance at the Royal Variety Performance in 2023. Their absence from the 2024 show was notable, as the Princess of Wales was undergoing treatment for her cancer diagnosis that March. She announced earlier this year that she was in remission and focusing on making a full recovery. “I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead,” Kate shared in her X post in January. “There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
Indeed, she and Prince William have been active in their royal duties over the last few months. And while Kate is on a promising path towards her health journey, William shared that it was difficult to explain her cancer diagnosis to their children. “Sometimes you feel you’re oversharing with the children you probably shouldn’t,” the Prince of Wales told Brazilian TV host Luciano Huck earlier this month. “There’s a lot more questions when there’s no answers. But it is always a balancing act – every parent knows that. It’s, ‘How much do I say? What do I say? When do I say?’” He continued, “There’s no manual for being a parent, you’ve just got to go with it – a bit of instinct.”
