Katie Holmes has taken to Instagram to clarify matters concerning her daughter, Suri Cruise's financial affairs. On December 8, Sunday, the 45-year-old actress posted a message disputing a Daily Mail report that claimed 18-year-old Suri had become a millionaire upon recently accessing her trust fund from her father, Tom Cruise.

According to the outlet, a source revealed that Suri gained access to the trust fund established by the 62-year-old Top Gun: Maverick star in April, upon turning 18. Additionally, the report mentioned that she has another trust fund from her mother. Holmes promptly responded to the article with a screenshot, captioning it, "Completely false. Daily Mail, you can stop making stuff up." She added, "Enough," in a firm stance against the misinformation.

Holmes has always been vocal about her wish to shield her daughter from detrimental media scrutiny. In an April 2023 interview with Glamour, the Dawson's Creek alum provided rare insights into her thoughts on Suri, expressing her desire to keep her out of the public eye due to her daughter's past visibility as a child. "What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her," Holmes shared. "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

In June this year, Suri and Holmes were photographed celebrating the teenager's graduation from her New York City high school. The mother-daughter duo posed for pictures and embraced warmly, with Suri donning a red cap and gown over a pristine white dress. Intriguingly, the teen opted to use the name "Suri Noelle" instead of "Suri Cruise" in her school's graduation ceremony program.

Holmes and her former husband, Tom Cruise, welcomed Suri into their lives in 2006. After nearly six years of marriage, they decided to part ways in 2012. Last year, Holmes ventured into directing with her film Rare Objects, which she also starred in and dedicated to her beloved daughter. Suri even contributed to the movie's soundtrack, much like her previous involvement in Holmes' film Alone Together. The end credits of Rare Objects featured a heartfelt dedication to Suri.

When discussing her decision to include Suri in her work during a 2023 Glamour interview, Holmes expressed her hope that "she always does something on my films," noting that "I always ask her." She continued, "Both of those experiences stemmed from the same love I have for our industry—where you embark on projects and form a family with the people involved. It's a safe, beautiful, creative space. Including someone I love deeply is an expression of that love for me."

"That's how I enjoy working. I thrive in that kind of atmosphere. Having her there was incredibly meaningful, because she's my heart," Holmes added, referring to Suri.
